" Who of us would not give an instant to be surrounded by objects with
the magical power to evoke passion and reflection?"
ARTIST'S STATEMENT :
" I need to create. It is not a
choice to be an artist.
It is who I am."
" Inspiration comes to me from many
sources. Colour plays an important element in my designs. I am constantly amazed
by the wondrous palette found in gemstones. I seek out unique and unusual
materials to use in my work. Other influences include the patterned designs of
Native American jewelry of the southwest, the curvaceous and elegant lines of
the Art Nouveau period, the diversity found in nature and my experiences in
life.
I feel there is beauty in all
that surrounds us. My most recent work in sterling silver and gold is a
continuing way for me to share with others the splendor I find in the world.
Throughout history stones have been worn for their meaning, power and beauty.
The pieces in the Spirit Shield Collection are meant to reflect the strength,
beauty and power that each of us holds within. I feel when a person chooses a
piece, that becomes their power shield.
I feel extremely fortunate to have a
profession that I love. A great joy for me is seeing how people respond to my
work, when they connect with a certain piece and feel the need to have it. An
even greater joy is that they share my vision."
