All of De Corte's one of a kind pieces are designed by Michael,  and his lovely wife Lisa. Michael was born here in the United States. Lisa is a True Blue Aussie. Born and raised in Melbourne Australia. They now reside a good portion of each year in Bali and it is here their one of a kind pieces are conceived and created. Michael and Lisa travel all over the world in search of components, ideas, inspiration, and they find them in the strangest and most unusual places. They gather stones and minerals on their travels and many of their pieces feature stones that they cut themselves. Often they are so taken with a mineral specimen that they set it untouched, and unimproved. Just as Mother Nature made it. They comb foreign markets and bazaars to find unusual odds and ends to incorporate into their pieces. They try to reflect the feelings and flavors they receive from the places they visit in their jewelry, whether that visit be one of seeking out components or just a visit inspired by curiosity . Michael and Lisa incorporate patterns they've encountered snorkeling Indonesia's reefs, patterns of scales off of fish they've caught or seen, ancient Egyptian or Druidic symbols, zodiac signs, cave wall paintings, cool cloud formations they remember from when they were kids.

"Our lives, through travel, bring us into contact with all of the worlds major religions and many of the world's minor religions too. We express our contact and curiosity about these religions and what they mean to their followers by incorporating the various symbols of different religions into our pieces.
