Anna Whitmore
Anna Whitmore has been
developing her jewelry concepts for more then 10 years. Her jewelry and design
training has been inventive and non-traditional, taking place at the Mendocino
Art Center and the Santa Rosa J.C.
Through time, many have found inspiration and meaning in their natural
surroundings. Flowers and trees have come to represent meaningful sentiments and
Anna would like to share their expressions through her jewelry. Her work
uniquely combines symbolic botanical impressions with oxidized sterling silver,
14k gold, natural stones and rare pearls.
Anna works from her studio in beautiful Sonoma, California. Her jewelry can be
found in distinguished galleries and boutiques throughout the United States.
MATERIALS &
CARE INFORMATION:
Keshi Pearls
Keshi pearls are a rare form of
freshwater pearl. These pearls are only harvested every three years and are
difficult to find in a high quality shape and luster. Anna uses these pearls in
her designs because of their beautiful and uniquely organic shape.
Semiprecious Stones
All semiprecious stones used in Anna's designs are of natural origin (no dyed or
heat treated stones), and are chosen for consistency in color and quality of
cut.
Oxidized Sterling Silver
Much of Anna's work features oxidized Sterling Silver. You will find this silver
to become more lustrous over time, and with wear it may begin to brighten on
exposed surfaces and remain dark in recessions. Oxidized silver cannot be
cleaned with chemicals; if necessary, use an old toothbrush, dish soap and warm
water. If smudges or fingerprints occur, remove by softly rubbing the jewelry
with a dry cotton cloth.
